The Client
General Background Information
My client is Dave Symmonds who I shall be working with very closely and engaging with on this project in order to successfully achieve a Building that meets all of his requirements. Dave has spent the last 15 years working as an Entomologist across various regions of the world. After working in this profession for all these years Dave had felt that it was time to retire from the main field of Entomology and share all of the knowledge and practice that he had gained from the field with others.
Dave felt that the best way for this experience to be shared would be by constructing a Research / Learning Hub with Overnight Accommodation. Dave then had decided to settle on 'Warley Woods', Birmingham as his sites location. He felt that this would be the most appropriate site due to the site natural surroundings and numerous inhabitants. Dave has managed to obtain his funding for this project through savings of his own and through various Universities from the Birmingham area.

Clients Workplace Information
An Entomologist is a type of scientist that specialises in the studies of insects. The Entomologist has a variety of jobs that have to be undertaken in order to fulfil their roles as scientists. Such roles include:
- Insect Classification
- Insect Life Cycles
- Insect Behaviour
- Insect Physiology
An Entomologist will work with a variety of insects from Urban insects / pests to Forest insects / pests and many other types of species. Throughout an Entomologists career they can work across various areas that will benefit their field of work. Such areas of work include; Research, Teaching, Government Work, & Commercial Sector Work.
In order for an Entomologist to capture and gather information they will often have to go out to different sites. Because of this need to be on site for a lot of time a form of portable accommodation such as 'Tents' will have to be used in order for long research trips to be carried out. The portable accommodation that is been used will have to be small and be able to blend into the natural surroundings so that natural habitats don't get disturbed. This is because if the habitat gets disturbed the species of insects that are going to be obtained may not be present as they will sense something wrong. Due to the amount of samples that may need to be collected on a research trip, storage will be an essential requirement so that successful research can be carried out.
